We had a chance to visit the Concord Museum of Art in the charming New England town of Concord, MA where the have the original lantern of Paul Revere. Really, the very one.
Anyhow, we went to see the special exhibit of dollhouses. But not just any dollhouses. Many of these date to the 18th Century, with some furnishings back to the 16th century. Wow, blew my socks off. I've always loved the Queen Anne wooden dolls. Here they had big ones, small ones, baby ones, boy and man ones, black ones and even a ghost Queen Anne doll.

According to the museum early dollhouses were more like cabinets to display wonderful tiny things for rich people. This one not only shows the richly decorated rooms but the servants rooms also.
Look at all the tiny silver details, a popular collectable of the time.
After the dolls, this miniature embroidery covered early psalm book was my fav.
Or maybe this 16th C. tiny "wire" doll.
Father and baby dolls. Oh, and the embroidered bedclothes.
I hope you enjoyed this visit. I was thrilled to see things I've never even dreamed existed. And if you can possibly go before January 15, 2017, well you really should go.
